Dr Stephen Coulson

Stephen has been a research fellow at the SST-CCW since 2016. A mathematician, he has over 20 years experience in Military Operations Research, the application of scientific principles to analyse problems in defence and security. He works with governments and the private sector.

His research interests are in higher tactical warfare, and how the use of military intelligence affects combat. He is also active in the use of wargaming to understand military strategy and decision making. he is currently writing a biography of Field Marshal Sir John Dill.
